El Diamante is a Estate Farm located in Mozonte, Nueva Segovia. The farm belongs to Carlos Alexander Lopez. The coffee plantation has an altitude that goes from 1,400 masl up to 1,550 mask.
El Diamante coffees are characterized for the brigth acidity, clean cup, nice body and chocolate and fruits notes. Carlos Lopez is well known because of the fermentation process that he carries out in all of his coffees.
The main varieties of the farm are: Bourbon and Caturra.
The most famous coffee plot of the Estate is know as La Esperanza, that has been a COE winner in 2015. The plantation has a wonderful combination with the pine trees natural forest and wild life of the mountain. The Jimenez brothers have improved their processing methods and fermentation of the coffee ranging between 28 and 40 hours per batch of washed coffees. The main varieties of the farm are: Maracaturra, Maragogype, Bourbon and Caturra.
The most famous coffee plot of the Estate is known as El Barril, which has been a COE winner in 2017 and 2018.
